The Greatest Car Chase Of Motion Picture History

The iconic car chase sequence that revolutionized Hollywood’s standards!

The 1968 dramatic/thriller movie Bullitt was notable for its extensive use of actual locations rather than studio sets and the Director’s choice of new lightweight cameras allowed for greater flexibility in location shooting.

Infact at the time of the film’s release, the car chase of two classic muscle cars (a 1968 Ford Mustang GT Vs a Dodge Charger R/T) through the streets of San Francisco, generated a great amount of excitement and is common opinion that this scene is one of the most exciting car chases in film history, a sequence that revolutionized Hollywood’s standards.

The movie was also selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
