Do you know how many different cars the US Police has employed in the past?
Do you know that the first ever police car was a wagon run by electricity fielded on the streets of Akron, Ohio in 1899? Since the 1920s, the New York City Police Department has employed a fleet of Radio Motor Patrol vehicles to fight against the crime in the city.
Do you remember the vintage 1970 Plymouth Fury, 1972 Ford LTD, 1977 Dodge Monaco….just to name a few? Those were true cars for the guys out there on the streets to keep us safe.
Here is a nice tribute to the many vintage cars that the Police department employed between the 40s and the 70s.
