1970 Ford Truck Commercial Featuring the Twin I Beam Suspension
During the 70s, the advertising industry in the car sector was trying out all kinds of new things and some results that came from these experiments were pretty interesting.
To present to the public their “Twin I Beam” suspension, Ford tested one of their trucks across an explosive strip, equipping the truck with three rods: two on the wheels and one on the cab just to prove that his truck “works like a truck but rides like a car”. In other words you will see that while the rods attached to the wheels are blowing up the explosives, the one attached to the cab will ride steady.
It’s really interesting to think at the evolution that the advertising industry experienced in the last 40 years, but maybe, at least from an affective and nostalgic point of view, a lot of things during that years were better than today.
